Winter Curtains

Our winter curtains collection brings together designs chosen for their warmth, weight, and settling quality. Rich, deep colourways, heavier fabrics, and designs with a cosy, seasonal character all feature here.
Winter curtains work best when made from heavier fabrics and have a thermal or blackout lining that helps prevent heat loss. The fit is important too — curtains that extend well beyond the window frame on each side and sit close to the floor will minimise draughts far more effectively than curtains that only just cover the glass. Deep, rich colours such as deep navy, forest green, burgundy, and charcoal all help create a sense of warmth and enclosure.

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes a curtain suitable for winter?

Winter curtains typically feature heavier fabrics, deeper colour palettes, and often thermal or blackout linings that help retain warmth and block cold draughts.

Do thermal linings really help with warmth?

Yes, thermal linings trap air between the curtain and the window and significantly reduce heat loss, making a noticeable difference to room temperature on cold nights.

What heading styles are available?

Heading styles vary by design and include both eyelet and pencil pleat options depending on the individual curtain.

What drops and widths are available?

We stock a range of standard drops and widths. Check individual product listings for the specific dimensions available in each design.

What colours feature most in winter curtains?

Deep navy, forest green, rich burgundy, charcoal, and warming ochre and mustard tones all feature strongly in the winter curtain range.

How do I care for heavy winter curtains?

Most heavier curtains and those with linings are dry clean only to protect both the fabric and the lining. Always check the specific care label.

Can I add a thermal lining to my existing curtains?

Yes, we stock separate curtain linings that can be attached to existing curtains to improve their insulating properties without replacing them.

Are these curtains suitable for a bedroom?

Yes, the warmth, weight, and deep colour palette of winter curtains make them a particularly good choice for bedroom windows where warmth and light control both matter.

The right curtains can make a very real difference to how comfortable a room feels through the colder months, and our winter curtains collection is put together with exactly that in mind. Heavy, warming fabrics, rich and deeply settled colour palettes, and designs with an appropriate seasonal character all feature here. These are curtains that not only look good — they actually help keep the cold out and the warmth in.

For maximum warmth, pair these curtains with a thermal lining from our curtain linings collection, or browse our blackout and thermal curtains range for designs with insulating linings already built in.
