Kate Merritt

Kate Merritt is an English designer and illustrator known for her stunning printed cushion collection that adds a Parisian flair to interiors. Living just outside of Paris with her family, Kate's work is inspired by her love of Parisian parks, resulting in mesmerising artworks of florals and nature. Her cushions, made in the UK, are complimented by bright and bold colours and complete with contrasting piped trims, ensuring a quality like no other.

Kate's whimsical patterns reflect her love for nature and all things floral. Her fresh colour palette of blues, greens, and coral pinks lends her work a joyful and modern feel. Her career began in London as an art editor, where she designed magazines and illustrated children's books. After taking a year sabbatical to live and experience the culture in Paris, she fell in love with the city and decided to stay.

Over the years, Kate has illustrated many books specifically for babies and toddlers, including the 'Indestructibles' book series by Workman Publishing and the 'Peekaboo' range by Ladybird books. More recently, she has discovered the joy of surface pattern design, which she describes as the most exciting time for her as a designer. She has designed three fabric ranges with Cloud9 Fabrics, cushion collections in HomeSense/TK Maxx UK, and has just launched her new bedding range in NEXT.

Having lived in France for ten years, Kate is passionate about patterns and excited about all the possibilities her work brings. On most days, you will find her busy working from home, loving every minute of her creative journey. Explore Kate Merritt's collection and bring a touch of Parisian flair to your home.
