These were trickier to hang than I was expecting, which is partly due to me assuming that things were more standardized across different brands of ready-made curtains than they may actually be. For my 66"x90" curtains the closest size available from Ideal was 61"x88". I didn't realize until I'd actually taken the curtains down and laid them on the floor that I had no idea where to place the smaller lining inside the larger curtain. There were certainly not enough hooks/rings to place two between every other eyelet as advised in the instructions. I did my best with what I had, and I suppose they're making some difference, but they don't gather naturally inside the curtains because of this.

In my opinion these could be made more user-friendly by providing more hooks and rings, writing more thorough instructions, and using openable rings such as you often find on shower curtains. The latter would have made it possible for me to troubleshoot the ring placement while the curtains were actually hanging up, rather than taking the whole curtain down over and over again to do it by trial and error. (Then again, this wouldn't have been as much of a problem if I'd had more hooks/rings in the first place and could have laid them out evenly two-by-two along the whole curtain.)

For what it's worth they do black out the area that they cover and hopefully are performing the thermal function as well. I'm sure I'll be very glad for these during the next summer heatwave. I was also pleased with the customer service, who were happy to re-arrange delivery dates for my convenience.

These linings are very good quality but much too long for the curtains. When the linings are attached to the plastic rings that go between the eyelets of the curtains the linings drop down by at least three inches so they show beneath the curtains.. Not looking forward to shortening them to fit.
